Oral Medicine is an emerging specialty in dentistry and deals with the diagnosis prevention and management of the diseases affecting the oral mucosa and other oral- facial structure. The subject is taught to undergraduate dental students and prepares these students for clinical management of various oral-facial problems. The course trains undergraduate students in the academic and clinical department to adopt c clinically proficient, scientifically orientated, analytical, and ethical and evidence based approach for the community. The departments also provide instruction or proper and judicious use of laboratory and radiographic investigations of search a a tentative diagnosis the subject of oral medicine is taught in third professional BDS which includes lecture, tutorial and clinical rotation in diagnosis differentiation at Islam dental college, Sialkot the goal is to obtain vital information on patient's medical and oral status, differentiation between normal and pathological condition to promote accurate diagnosis and there easily management.
